Dr Roger Henderson
Dr Roger Henderson is a senior GP, recently retired from his long-standing position as the head of a 15,000-patient general practice in Shropshire where he was also a GP trainer, running his large main surgery and two branch surgeries. He now works as a sessional GP in order to concentrate on his health broadcasting work. One of the UK’s most respected medical commentators, he is the health columnist for the Spectator and writes health-related columns and features for many national newspapers and magazines. He appears regularly on television, radio and the internet discussing health issues.
He chairs and speaks at many health conferences both in the UK and globally and is the UK Medical Director for LIVA Healthcare – winner of the ‘Most Innovative Health Tech Company of the Year’ and ‘Lifestyle & Disease Management Platform of the Year’ at the 2019 Global Health and Pharma Healthcare Awards. He is a judge for the 2020 General Practice Awards, and is a member of the steering committee of the Primary Care and Community Neurology Society that helps spearhead the development of community neurology services.
In his spare time he enjoys long walks, keeping fit in his gym, and trying to prove that wine is good for your health. (If it isn’t, he’s in trouble.)
